I’ve written in lots of places over the past five years, sharing countless sensory and motor tips for parents of neurodivergent children including in my Helping Kids Write Facebook group, on my email list, for workshops and articles, and in the hundreds of aha moments and tips I’ve quickly jotted into the Notes app on my phone to share with you.
But before all of that, I used the blog on my old homemade website as the main space to share information, insights, and hope with families.
And I loved it.
In fact, most families I worked with back then told me they found it really helpful and felt like they already knew me because the blog sounded just like I spoke.
I really valued that connection. That families could get a sense of my mission, ethos, way of working, and the real me before we even met or even if we never did.
Why I’m Returning to Blogging
Now that the website is updated and finally done, I’ve been feeling pulled to return to this blog.
To have a space of my own in this huge internet realm where I can reflect and share thoughts. Sometimes clear and direct, sometimes more of a ramble. Because not everything is straightforward, and honestly, it is in the rambles that I often get to the good stuff. A place where I can gather what I’ve learned from the incredible families and kids I work with, including my own child who has taught me so much.
You will hear reflections from working with other neurodivergent advocates, things I wish everyone supporting neurodivergent kids would know, and the deep dives I do when something really sparks my interest.
Those deep dives are often where I work things out for myself and end up discovering something truly meaningful. The kind of insights I want the whole world to know.
So this blog will be a gathering place for all of that and whatever else comes up. No rules. Nothing rigid. Let’s go with the flow and see where it goes.
