Join Me at the PDA Space Summit 2025: Exploring Equity for PDA’ers

I’m really excited to be speaking at this year’s PDA Space Summit, a powerful online event sharing strategies and support for those with Pathological Demand Avoidance. It’s happening from Friday 26 to Sunday 28 September, 2025.

This year’s theme is Equity: creating supportive environments where everyone can thrive. and it’s one that means a lot to me on both a professional and personal level.

As a brown, neurodivergent, single parent and Occupational Therapist, I see every day how much our systems ask kids (and families) to change themselves to fit in instead of adapting environments to effectively meet their needs. That’s why I’m so happy about the conversations this summit is bringing to the forefront.

What I’m Sharing: Sensory Equity for PDA’ers

My session is titled:
Equity Starts with the Nervous System: Sensory Equity for PDA’ers.

In this talk, I’ll explore:

✅ What sensory equity really means
✅ Common barriers to sensory access
✅ How unmet sensory needs create inequity
✅ How we can design environments around capacity and nervous system needs
✅ Practical ways to support sensory equity for PDA’ers

If you’ve followed my work, you’ll know that I don’t just talk about sensory processing in isolation. I connect it to everyday life, culture, values, safety, and the way a child feels in their body. Equity begins with the nervous system, and that’s exactly where we need to start when supporting PDA’ers.
